Bird monitoring offer

The Iceni Bird Monitoring Group, which is based around Fakenham, is seeking farms to work with on monitoring and ringing some key species. These include Lapwing, Stone Curlew, Oystercatcher, Marsh Harrier, Kestrel, Mute Swan and Tree Sparrow.

Working across the North Norfolk Coast area from King’s Lynn to Cromer, the group is fully licensed by the British Trust for Ornithology and have the necessary Schedule 1 licences. The findings would feed into our overall monitoring ambitions – building on the work carried out by the UEA in the Biodiversity Audit Phase 1,2 and 3.

The Iceni Bird Monitoring Group is a small organisation so focus would go to areas with potentially the highest breeding populations, but all farmers and land managers interested in working with the group to establish species on their land are encouraged to get in contact to discuss further.

Anyone interested in taking up this offer, please contact Chris and Denise Lamsdell on
