Do you have a pond that needs a little bit of management? The Norfolk Ponds Project (NPP) Project Pit Stop Volunteer Group are offering to lend a hand!
As you will be aware to kick off the start of the new year the Norfolk Ponds Project has been running a project called Project Pit Stop in the Norfolk Coast AONB, funded by the Norfolk Coast Partnership and the Green Recovery Challenge Fund. The purpose of the project is to help support the goals of the NPP of conserving and restoring farmland ponds in Norfolk.
So far the group of volunteers have been doing some fantastic work trying out pond field survey techniques and feeding back to us in the weekly Wednesday night meetings. To facilitate this, landowners have been allowing the volunteers onto private land to visit their ponds – so if one of these landowners were you – many thanks!
To finish off the project the NPP wish to undertake some pond management for their ‘End of Project Celebration’ on Sunday 12th February. they are looking for a pond that is not completely overgrown but could do with just a bit of management (tree/scrub removal) keep on top of things and keep the light coming into the pond.
If you are a landowner or tenant farmer who would like a little bit of assistance on your ponds please email Helen Greaves at email@example.com or complete our Expression of Interest form selecting ‘Project Pit Stop’ in the project options here.
We thank you in advance for your support of Project Pit Stop.
